Born and bred in Ba, Jay Dayal is the managing director for Dayals Steels Pte Limited.
A subsidiary company of MR Dayal Group of Companies, Dayals Steels is the largest locally owned hot rolling mill, which also produces quality steel purlins, roofing materials.
It owns and operates Fiji’s largest mesh wire factory.
Mr Dayal said he was passionate about building the economy.
“The long-term goal for Dayals Steels is to make steel from Fiji’s soil,” he said.
“Ultimately, by sourcing raw materials locally, the cost of production will decrease and therefore, the total cost of construction will do too – benefiting all Fijians.”

I’d take every visitor to the Northern part of Viti Levu.
The drive from Rakiraki to Tailevu is absolutely breathtaking.
