Ellana Kalounisiga is a popular face to those who live in Suva.
Co-director of Ginger Kitchen café at the Fiji Museum, Thurston Gardens, Mrs Kalounisiga has multi-dimensional skills and knowledge.
She is also the co-director of Knox Entertainment, coordinator of the popular ROC Market in Suva, and the founder of the group Ministry of Mums.
“I have been in Fiji for nearly 20 years,” she said. “I am a mum of four, and I am very family-oriented.” Mrs Kalounisiga enjoys socialising with a good sense of community.
But by the same token, she is a private person with a close-knit group of friends.
What Are Your Hobbies?
My hobbies include outdoor activities, boating, spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking and listening to music.
How Many Places Have You Visited So Far In Fiji?
I have travelled extensively around Fiji in the time I have been here.
It never ceases to amaze me all the beautiful places we have.
There’s so much to see and do; mountains and beaches.
What Is The One Place In Fiji You Would Take Every Visitor To, And Why?
I would take every visitor who comes to Fiji to Wainibuka, up in the interior of Fiji.
It has fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a beautiful clean river, as well as amazing people.
What Is Your Secret Backyard Favourite Spot?
The waterfalls of Wainadoi.
It is close to home – nice and refreshing, and brings you back to nature.

What Is Your Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
Ginger Kitchen cafe.
One of the reasons I wanted to take ownership was because it is the only place in the city of Suva which is open.
It’s outdoors and back in the natural surroundings like the Thurston Gardens, yet you’re only in the middle of the city.
What is the one Fiji spot on the top of your bucket list?
The Lau group.
One of my dearest friends is from there and it just looks amazing.
