Sheraton Fiji Resort has earmarked April, 1, 2021 for its re-opening. The re-opening would follow the multi-million dollar upgrade following the resort closure in January, 20 this year.

Refurbishment
Multi property vice president Marriott International and General Manager – Sheraton and Westin Resorts, Fiji Neeraj Chadha earlier said the resort was to re-open its doors in July this year.

However, the plans for the re-opening were derailed following the covid19 pandemic which closed all borders and halted all businesses around the world.

“We will open on April 1, if everything else works out. The hotel renovation is going fine with exciting concepts and not only that, it will benchmark Fiji to the whole world,” Mr Chadha said.

He added that Sheraton Fiji Resort was going to be one of the exciting hotels in the Pacific.

“We are optimistic on the future of tourism in Fiji as we are concerned about the investment being made to the hotel. Such an investment repositions Fiji as a premium destination for our guests to come and enjoy with Australia and New Zealand who are located so close by. It is natural that we see a good share of tourists come to Fiji.”

Mr Chadha is glad for the support received from the Fijian government, more in the form of the taxes, concession and duty and including the Fiji Airways Bula fares.
“As we open we would hire people back.”

Food & Beverage Concept
Among the international concepts at the resort it will have two of the most stunning restaurants that have not been seen anything like this in Fiji or in the world.

Tatavu Flame Grilled Seaview Dining, formerly the top class Flying Fish will be known as which vertical sushi grafted grill.

“There are three of its kinds in the world, one in LA, South Korea and the third one in Fiji. It is coming with a high expectation for food and beverage,” he said.

Denarau Fourteen 619, formerly Feast will have seven live kitchens and walk in seafood room.

This is to cater for 300 people and is by far one of the stylish restaurants ever seen in Fiji.
