Koro Sun Resort and Rain Forest Spa is the biggest resort in Vanua Levu that annually provides accommodation to more than 7000 tourists.

Biggest resort not in terms of size but in the number of bures and villas.

This resort has 51 bures and villas.

Co-general Manager Josaia Rayawa said 60 per cent were Americans, 25 percent are Australians and the rest are Chinese and Europeans.

“At this point we have small number of New Zealanders coming to our resort but we are hopeful that in next two years we will more of them,” Mr Rayawa said.

He said Americans have been coming to the resort and to Savusavu for the past 40 years.

Guests from all around the world gathered for the Fiji Day celebration at the resort on Saturday evening heard Mr Rayawa relay the history of Fiji and its independence.

Matt Pulford of Sydney, Australia said Fiji has a magnificent history.

“The first and the last time I came to Fiji was in 1997,” Mr Pulford said.

“And after a long time and for the first time I came with my wife Alison Rahill to Savusavu,” he added.

“There has been lot of development and changes.

“There are more roads, hotels, shops and people.

“However, Fijians remains to be the friendly people which make them unique,” Mr Pulford said

Donna Partow from California, United States said this was the second time she came to Fiji and it was always a blessing to experience Fijian culture and especially the Koro Sun Resort services.

“During my stay at the resort last year I wrote a book called ‘The Special Blessings Prayer’ within ten days and the cover of the book was one the natural views at the resort,” Ms Partow said.

“This resort has provided me the suitable environment to put my thoughts into writing,” she added.

Ms Partow has written 30 Christian books.
