Cassandra De Pecol, an International Institute for Peace through Tourism ambassador, is in the country to promote ‘Peace through Tourism’.
Skal International Suva hosted a dinner for Ms De Pecol to welcome her to Suva and show her their support in enhancing the world through Expedition 196.
The dinner was officiated by the Suva group’s President Peter Mazey.
Skal is an International Organisation of tourism Practitioners. It promotes global tourism and friendship.
Mr Mazey said the group was happy to host the event and to listen to Ms De Pecol’s credentials through her presentation.
Ms De Pecol has made it her mission to be the first women to travel to all sovereign countries. She also aims to be the fastest person to travel to all 193 Nations in less than three years and three months.
She said “My time in Fiji and in the Capital Suva has been a highlight of my trip.
“The friendliness of the Fijian people and the culture stand out above all the countries I have visited throughout my life. The fun and infectious smiles of the Fijian’s is a pleasure to travel amongst and experience,” she said.
She added she looks forward to visiting again later in the year.
“Fiji being the Hub of the Pacific I have to fly through your islands with Fiji Airways again!”
During the formalities Mr Mazey was then presented the ‘Declaration of Peace’.
Grateful for the opportunity to travel and experience the world and because peace begins with the individual she has a personal responsibility.
